Photo Retouch 1

The tools that I primarily used in my photo retouches were the spot healing, content aware, high pass, and the patch tool. The spot healing tool helped me get rid of blaring white spots, while the patch tool and content aware were used to get rid of big areas of water damage and cracks in the paper. The sponge tool took care of the yellow in one of the photos. Additionally, the lighting settings, such as level, color balance, and brightening and contrast, allowed me to make the image more clear. I also utilized high pass, a setting which made the photo more clear. Some challenges I faced during this project was not "overdoing" it. Although the photos were being edited, they should not look that way. Also, each photo had different needs, so I had to make sure I was using all of the necessary tools. I worked on these three photos at once. I think that the photo with husband and wife in wedding dress (my grandparents) was the most difficult. I had to use the content aware and patch tool to fix the background. I approached each photo differently by studying the necessity of each photo. Some needed to be brightened, while some required contrast. I think I succeeded in making the photo look natural. I polished and cleaned up the rough areas in each photo, while maintaining the original content.
